The Pantry Thief

The "Thief" is 31 Inches tall and 14 inches wide.

I used the following items in my sculpture.

  •  Coconut Oil Jar
  • Animal Crackers
  • Gloves
  • Seasoning Jars and Lids
  • Oatmeal cup for hat
  • Ketchup packet for Nose
  • Metal Hangar for Arms
  • Used double sided poster tape to build
I used the spice bottles for feet and attached them using double sided tape. I used the animal crackers tub for the body. I took a clothes hangar and hot glued it to the bottom of the coconut oil jar and then put gloves on the end using paper clips. I used an empty cookie jar on its side for the face. I attached a ketchup packet and seasoning lids for the face. I added a oatmeal cup hat for extra style.

I knew I wanted to build a robot looking guy. I thought it would be fun to build it out of things you could find in the pantry. I ran into two problems, with the arms. I had a hard time getting the hanger to fit between the animal cookies and coconut oil so I had to hot glue them in there, and then I couldn't find anything in my pantry that resembled hands so I had to use my sisters gloves.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out except for the arms. I couldn't really think of any other options and the pink gloves were all I could find. I also wish that the animal crackers jar was fuller.
I liked the way the face turned out. I originally had the spice lids closed but when I opened them up it gave it a lot more personality.
